Anish Shah
MD
Anish A. Shah, MD, FACS specializes in minimally invasive bariatric and metabolic surgery, with particular expertise in revisional procedures: patients who have regained weight after an earlier procedure, or who are dealing with reflux, hiatal hernia, or complications from a prior surgery. He performs sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, SADI-S and duodenal switch, band removal and conversion, endoscopy and intragastric balloon procedures, and medically supervised weight loss, along with minimally invasive hernia and gallbladder surgery. Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Shah completed his general surgery residency at Stony Brook and a fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at East Carolina University, where his research focused on same-day surgery pathways and enhanced recovery after bariatric surgery. His approach starts with listening: understanding what each patient has already tried, what they’re hoping for, and what will actually last, so they feel heard, informed, and supported at every step.
