Brett Simenhoff
MD, ABOM
Brett Simenhoff, MD is a double board-certified general surgeon and obesity medicine physician specializing in minimally invasive bariatric and general surgery. His dual training lets him approach obesity both medically and surgically, helping patients choose what best fits their goals: medication, surgery, or both. He performs the full range of bariatric procedures, including sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, duodenal switch, and SADI-S, with particular expertise in complex and revisional surgery. He uses advanced laparoscopic and robotic techniques with an emphasis on long-term results and helping patients understand their options. As a general surgeon, Dr. Simenhoff treats gallbladder disease, abdominal wall and hiatal hernias, GERD, and complex reflux and swallowing disorders. Dr. Simenhoff completed his general surgery residency at Mount Sinai in New York, where he was named Chief Resident of the Year. He then completed an advanced fellowship in minimally invasive gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery at Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital under Dr. Kelvin Higa, a pioneer in laparoscopic gastric bypass and complex bariatric surgery.
