Caring for women through perimenopause, menopause, and beyond

Changes in midlife can show up across sleep, mood, energy levels, weight, sexual health, and physical comfort. These changes often begin during perimenopause, the years leading up to menopause, when hormones shift and symptoms may appear or fluctuate. Menopause is officially reached after 12 consecutive months without a period; afterward, some symptoms may improve as hormone levels stabilize, while others can persist. Strive’s concierge care model creates space to discuss your whole experience and build a personalized plan for symptom relief and continued well-being.

Taking your midlife concerns seriously at every stage

From the first changes in your cycle through symptoms that may continue after menopause, hormonal shifts can affect how you feel, think, sleep, and function. We evaluate concerns across your physical, emotional, cognitive, and sexual health.

  • Menstrual changes, including irregular periods or changes in flow
  • Hot flashes and night sweats
  • Anxiety, irritability, low mood, depression, or mood swings
  • Brain fog, memory lapses, fatigue, sleep problems, headaches, or migraines
  • Joint pain, muscle aches, frozen shoulder symptoms, or inflammation
  • Vaginal dryness, lower libido, urinary urgency, or recurrent UTIs

Midlife changes in hormones, appetite, sleep, and body composition can affect weight and metabolic health. Strive combines medical guidance with nutrition, lifestyle support, and—when appropriate—GLP-1 medication to address concerns such as:

  • Weight gain or changes in appetite and body composition
  • Insulin resistance
  • Blood-pressure changes
  • Cardiovascular risk

After menopause, some symptoms may improve as hormone levels stabilize, while others can persist or new concerns may emerge. We help you understand and monitor changes that may affect your quality of life and long-term health, including:

  • Ongoing vaginal and urinary changes
  • Sleep disruption and fatigue
  • Bone loss and osteoporosis risk
  • Cardiovascular health changes
  • Changes in muscle mass and body composition
  • Joint discomfort and mobility concerns
  • Dry skin and hair thinning

Women’s hormonal and non-hormonal health treatment options

Midlife symptoms don’t follow a single pattern, and treatment shouldn’t either. Strive offers hormonal, non-hormonal, lifestyle, and weight-management options that may be considered individually or together, based on your symptoms, health history, and goals.

Hormone therapy replaces hormones that decline during the menopause transition, including estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Systemic therapy may help relieve hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disruption, and mood changes. Local or vaginal therapy may help with vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, and certain urinary symptoms, with minimal whole-body absorption. Your provider will discuss which approach may be appropriate for you.

  • Systemic hormone therapy, including oral pills, skin patches, gels, sprays, and systemic vaginal rings
  • Local or vaginal hormone therapy, including creams, rings, and suppositories

When hormone therapy isn’t preferred or appropriate, non-hormonal treatments may help reduce vasomotor symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats. Your provider will consider your symptoms, health history, and preferences when discussing the options.

  • Fezolinetant, sold as Veozah, an FDA-approved non-hormonal prescription treatment for moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms due to menopause
  • Elinzanetant, sold as Lynkuet, an FDA-approved non-hormonal prescription treatment for moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms due to menopause
  • SSRIs and SNRIs, including paroxetine (Brisdelle) and venlafaxine (Effexor), which may help reduce hot flashes and support mood, anxiety, or sleep concerns
  • Gabapentin, which The Menopause Society includes among evidence-based non-hormonal options for vasomotor symptoms

Lifestyle support can help with symptom relief and long-term health. Strive connects you with practical guidance and specialists as appropriate, including:

  • Nutrition and stress reduction, with support from nutritionists and psychologists to build healthy habits and manage physical and emotional changes
  • Exercise and physical therapy, with personalized movement recommendations and referrals when appropriate to support strength, mobility, bone health, and overall well-being
  • Sleep health, including evaluation of sleep concerns and, when appropriate, sleep studies through our in-house sleep lab to identify conditions such as sleep apnea and guide next

Midlife hormonal changes, sleep disruption, stress, and shifts in body composition can affect weight management. Strive may incorporate physician-guided weight management into a broader women’s health plan, including:

  • Medical weight-management evaluation and guidance
  • GLP-1 and related prescription medications, including semaglutide, sold as Wegovy, and tirzepatide, sold as Zepbound, when appropriate
  • Nutrition, lifestyle, stress, and sleep support
  • Ongoing monitoring and support to help you work toward and maintain a healthy weight

Strive supports women through perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause, with care for symptoms, hormonal and non-hormonal treatment, lifestyle changes, and weight and metabolic health. Your provider considers how these concerns intersect to help shape a plan for your health now and in the years ahead.

You have more time to talk openly about what has changed and how it is affecting your life. Led by Certified Menopause Practitioner Dr. Angela Glasnapp, the program combines direct access, ongoing support, and coordinated care instead of treating each concern in isolation.

Your provider will review your symptoms, health history, family history, timing relative to menopause, and personal risk factors before discussing whether systemic or local treatment may be appropriate. If hormone therapy is not the right fit, other options are available.

Hormone therapy may help relieve symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, mood changes, and sleep disruption. Your provider can discuss the potential benefits, risks, and alternatives based on what you are experiencing.

Hormone therapy can be a safe and effective option for many women, but the benefits and risks vary based on your symptoms, health history, age, risk factors, and the type of treatment. Your provider will review your individual health profile and discuss whether hormone therapy may be appropriate for you.

Side effects vary by person and treatment, so your provider can help you understand what to expect and address any concerns.

There is no single timeline. Some women continue treatment when it is helping and remains appropriate for their health. Your provider will review your symptoms, preferences, and health profile regularly and adjust your plan as needed.

Age and timing can be part of the decision, but there is no single age cutoff. Hormone therapy is generally most beneficial for healthy women younger than 60 or within 10 years of their final menstrual period. Your provider will consider your individual health, symptoms, and risk factors before recommending an approach.

You have options. Depending on your symptoms and health history, care may include non-hormonal medication, cognitive behavioral therapy, hypnosis, lifestyle changes, or support for vaginal health. Your provider will help you understand which approaches may be useful for you.

Yes. Hormonal and metabolic shifts can affect weight and body composition during midlife. Strive combines medical guidance with nutrition and lifestyle support, and may consider GLP-1 medication when appropriate as part of a broader weight-management plan.
